A NEW MONTH!! Happy Birthday, Draper...

We will be celebrating lots of birthdays this month ~ perhaps celebrating isn't the right word, however.

July flew by with lots of family around and visiting so we have been kept very busy and away from the computers quite a bit.

So much has happened I'm sure I'll forget something or someone, but here goes!

The Binghams' sent Dray along before their drive to Carlsbad for their annual week of camping. This has become a routine no one wishes to miss ... so Riley & Megan flew out and stayed three nights at the campsite, too. Four Bingham guys out of five wasn't too bad, right?

Megan, 3-4 months pregnant, isn't showing at all, YET! We hope to learn the sex of this baby "Schming" while we are in Utah later this month!

Landon finally got his call into the Coast Guard and enters basic training in Cape May, NJ, on August 19th! "Way to go, Landon!"

Collin finished his 1st year of college - and made nice with girl/pal Breanna while in CA. He'll be off on a mission next April when he turns nineteen!

Kate and Draper had a great time together at Carlsbad. I guess having the whole outdoors to "play" in kept them very busy and occupied. Kate and Dray are definitely growing UP!!!

Connor saw the "Dark Knight" while in Carlsbad and offered to tell me all about it. Thanks, Connor, but I sat through the whole 2 1/2 hours myself!!

Greg & Cathleen disappeared from all blogs as they bought and sold their home(s) and had to move in 2 weeks. Ever done something like this with 8 kids?! YIKES!!! We hope they have survived this move...

Sydney got a "new do" and looks much better with her hair short and in a bob.

Andrea and their three came to visit for 3 weeks (excluding weekends) and we have done the OC Fair ~ Seth and their four joined us for the afternoon ~ and also the Ringling Bros/Barnum and Bailey Circus in one week.

It is always nice to have the young ones around and these kiddies are no exception!

Andrea is running in the NYC Marathon on Nov 2nd.

Poppy is surviving pretty well, all things condidered. I only wish we had the VA Bakers around, too!

As I said it has been a busy time and hopefully August will settle down a little bit for those of you in the 'throes' of the BIG move.

We'll be in Park City Utah from Aug 15th - 27th - wish Tory could be there then!!

Also heard that the Cildermans(Cathleen's mom & dad) are moving to Pennsylvania immediately, too!! Great news for Cath, Greg & family!! Lots of room for visiting grandparents who will be quite close by!

Hello to everyone . . . much love, too!! xoxoxo Grammy

Great picture of Connor, Megan and Draper on Theresa's blog, no? Draper looks like he has thinned out and is getting older looking.

Fantastic news about Landon, thanks for sharing. I wonder how he'll like being so far from home. Just a hop skip and jump to the Bakers though!

I saw Dark Knight, it was OK, nothing to write home about.

Yes we have disappeared and the computers are still not hooked up. As of today, we still had a POD full of stuff out on the driveway to get moved into the house. We had a lot of built-in shelves in the old house that we don't have in the new which means, where to put stuff??? We also don't have a shed any more and we now have a pretty strict HOA which means we can't just leave stuff (yard tools, bikes/toys, etc.) out in the yard. We've lost our privacy but every single room in our new home is huge, no more claustrophobia syndrome. None of the windows have blinds so we are hiding behind boxes to shower and dress... Furniture has made it to destination rooms but in total chaotic fashion. No beds have been set up yet (mattresses on the floor still). We did get our phone and internet installed/hooked-up but the phone has a problem we have to get resolved (and computers are still all over the place, not set up). We got Satellite TV set up so that the little ones are entertained while we work to unpack. Food shopping and laundry must still occur... Just got shower curtains last night finally, everyone was using the master shower which has a shower door. Got Tory off to the airport today for UT ballroom dance camp (returns Friday).

We are busy. Cathleen's email box is full. I worked yesterday and tonight but since I've taken off work for the past week and a half, had to catch up on all my emails yesterday and touch on some blogs... We probably won't be back on top of things for several more weeks (hopefully before school starts).

Please send photos of Sydney's new do.

I probably won't be checking back in until the end of the week... Jan Cilderman is driving across the country (got a call from him today in Colorado). He reports to work on 8/6, his oldest child's birthday... He says he'll be out to visit us in a few weeks for a weekend quick get away.

Sorry to update you on us on your blog but your blog prompted these thoughts so that's what you get.

I love getting ANY news at all!

I can imagine the state of chaos you are in, but it will all get done at some point right?!!

With Tory away you all will feel it - thank goodness for Aleks & summer vacation - right?!!

Next is CJB's science camp and then Gregory kicks off ... for college, that is.

I sure hope he finds his niche and really runs with the program by working hard and getting good grades!

Good luck getting settled "forever" ~ I doubt I could do a move the way you 'guys' did, even if my life depended upon it!!

The worst part of it is over now and things will come together, but you're going to miss your other home a whole lot, I suspect.

Well, like you said, you get what you get... and that's all for this blog.

xoxoxo CB's included...
